Because some limits are real, and some we just believe in.

I’ve been there before.

And there’s a reason for that.  Remember?


I’m too tired.

Which is going to be better for your soul?  This or the couch?


It’s too cold out.

Just take a step outside.  Just one.


It’s too hot out.

Okay, now another step.  You can do it.


I’m scared of heights.

See?  You can do it.


If you ask me, some of our limits are very real – they keep us humble and safe – while others we impose on ourselves.  Those ones can shrink our vastness.  Sometimes it can be hard to tell the difference between the two.  Being gentle, firm, and inquisitive with ourselves is the best way to encounter them.  Because one step outside our comfort zone is exactly where we grow.
